About the Artist

Colombian native, Rosa O. Clifford (ROC) has loved and enjoyed the arts and music from a young age. Her early years were spent with her family living in the Tampa area as her father was a practicing anesthesiologist at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Rosa enjoyed ballet, tap and art classes as a young girl and even dreamed about starting a greeting card business. This dream began to take shape many years later and in an unusual and unexpected way with the birth of her second child, Christopher Joseph who was born with Downs Syndrome.

Christopher was blessed to be a participant in the Early Intervention Program (EIP) which entailed weekly home visits from Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapists as well as a home-based teacher. These wonderful ladies poured so much into Christopher’s life for three years that as the time approached for him to enter into the public school system, Rosa searched for a way to convey her gratitude and appreciation for their dedication, commitment and for the loving care they gave so selflessly to Christopher. She was determined to pour every bit of the creative gifts and talents she’s been blessed with into making each of them a very personal and one-of-a-kind “Thank You”. The ladies told Rosa how precious and special they felt when they received these cards and this confirmed what Rosa had intended in creating them in the first place. The original “Thanks-A-Bunch” cards are pictured below.

Rosa’s love of the arts has had various avenues of expression including painting, drawing, dancing, singing, and acting. While attending and eventually graduating from a commercial art and advertising college in Bogota, Colombia, Rosa became the singing voice associated with numerous television advertising jingles. She also enjoyed a 10 year television career as an actress starring in various comedy and drama series broadcast during  the early 1980’s to  the early 1990’s throughout Colombia. It was also during this time that Rosa attended Life Bible College and focused the expression of her artistic giftings to give glory to the Lord Jesus .

Rosa returned to the United States in 1993 and participated in various capacities in several well known ministries in the Tampa Bay area. She met her husband Scott – a Stanford graduate and single father – while both were serving in the choir at a local church, and they were married in February of 1998. Rosa became an ‘instant’ mom to Scott’s ten year old son  A.J., and has been blessed with two sons of her own: Jonathan Jorge – born in the summer of 1999, and Christopher Joseph – born in the summer of 2001. The Clifford family currently resides in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.

With excellence in craftsmanship, intricate attention to detail and unique design, Rosa’s hand crafted cards communicate a message to their recipients that they are cherished, unique and are highly thought of and very valuable. This message is reiterated to those that meet her – that they are loved by God and are very special and very precious to Him!

  1. Rosa,
I just had to write as your talent is Amazing! But then my next comment might sound horribly conceited…lol..
because I was made aware of your work by a friend. I started Scrapbooking 15 yr.s ago and I loved it so much. But I found out I loved making cards so much more and the challenge of making things with the tiniest details.

I am inspired by you as I had pretty much stopped teaching and creating due to a heart condition that has me on bed rest often. But after seeing your website I went out to my craft room for the first time in years and made a simple card. Thank You!
